KM Packaging, a leading supplier of flexible packaging & lidding films worldwide, has introduced two novel KPeel Ambtort lidding films, designed to meet the multifaceted needs of the ambient food industry.
Launched under KPeel range, both the films (KPeel Ambtort PPs 85 & KPeel Ambtort AL 91) have been curated to endure high temperatures as high as 123 degrees Celsius, which are used in retort sterilization. These films can notably increase the shelf-life of ambient commodities, ranging from fruit pots to ready meals.
The KPeel Ambtort PPs 85 is a cutting-edge transparent threefold laminate film with superb barrier properties. It seals to PP & PP lacquered foil trays and thus offers robust, smooth hot & cold peel. Whereas, KPeel Ambtort AL 91 is comprised of aluminum foil layer, which offers top-notch barrier in terms of oxygen and water vapor transmission rates.
The aluminum foil packaging is witnessing high adoption from food manufacturers, riding on the back of its robust properties, which in turn is further fueling the growth in aluminum foil packaging market. A recent Fact.MR study has projected sales of over 10 million tons of aluminum foil packages by the end of 2026.
Both the films can be easily adopted for chilled, ambient or frozen tray lidding applications. They are also ideal for printing, as it delivers lucrative branding opportunities by enhancing product appearance.
KM Packaging Managing Director Charles Smithson, said that with the addition of the two Ambtort solutions to their KPeel range, they can now offer the high-performance peel & increased shelf-life sought by a majority of food manufacturers.
Smithson added that these lidding films are ideal for an array of applications. He mentioned that the Ambtort PPs 85 lidding film is retainable when used for microwave cooking, thereby offering higher convenience to end-users. With the effective & dependable seal performance, the latest films make the best option for manufacturers in wanting to extend shelf-life significantly.
